The enthralling tale of the enigmatic cannabis strain, Red Congolese, traces its origins to an epoch in the late 1970s, when our venerated master grower's grandfather found himself immersed in the heart of Zaire - the Congolese state that flourished between 1971 and 1997. There, amidst a commendable humanitarian endeavor to drill wells, he encountered an extraordinary gift from his local collaborators: the original Congolese seeds.

This remarkable strain, teetering on the precipice of the psychedelic, left an indelible impression on him. Upon his return to the United States, he harbored a tenacious determination to cultivate this enigmatic plant. Serendipitously, in the early 1980s, his work led him to the majestic landscapes of Big Sur, California, where he germinated the seeds.

Initial attempts yielded plants that extended into February, their commercial value somewhat diminished. Undeterred, he embarked on a meticulous process of selective inbreeding, striving to capture the essence of the extraordinary flower. It was then that his path intersected with that of Jerry Kamstra, who bestowed upon him seeds of a rare hybrid - Purple Zacatecas x Highland Afghan.

Eureka! A male progeny emerged from these seeds, and upon its union with the heirloom Congolese, a magnificent new strain was born. Thus, the Red Congolese as we know it today was conceived. This extraordinary strain has been cherished and preserved by the family ever since, a testament to the perseverance and ingenuity of its creators.
