In 2015, two friends began extracting cannabis oil (RSO) in a garage out of southern California. In attempts to make it more effective, they experimented with making the extracted water-soluble. They started tweaking a process pharmaceutical companies used on oil based cancer therapies. This process was used to make poorly absorbing cancer drugs more bioavailable, while also extending drug half-life. After months of trial and error, Habit succeeded in developing a proprietary nano-encapsulation process for cannabis oil, accelerating onset times and extending the effects.
